Many of our students take the TOEFL iBT® test to gain a certificate of English proficiency. The test evaluates your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills in English. The TOEFL certificate is useful if you

  • wish to prove your level of English to an employer
  • are planning to study at a higher education institution
  • are applying for a scholarship or certification
  • are applying for a student or work visa in an English-speaking country
  • wish to track your progress in learning English

The American Language Center Tangier runs a special TOEFL preparation program to help you prepare for the test and improve your English-language skills.

The TOEFL Prep course is an exam preparation course, not an English language course. Its aim is to give students exam practice and feedback for the TOEFL iBT test and to acquire and enhance test-taking strategies that will lead to improved scores.

Students who wish to register for the course should have a minimum level of Intermediate 6.

How to register for the TOEFL iBT?

The only way to register for the TOEFL iBT test is online at ets.org

Test centers (including ALC Tangier) can fill up quickly, so early registration is recommended to get your preferred test location and date.

Online registration opens 3-4 months prior to the test date and closes 4 days before the test date. To avoid a late registration fee, you should register one week before the test date.
