2016 U.S. Embassy Morocco Open Grants Competition
Application Guidelines
Theme:
Galvanizing Youth to Protect the Environment
Deadline: March 1, 2016
As scientists, activists and elected officials across the world grapple with responding to climate change, it is more important than ever for youth to be integrally involved in finding solutions. Later this year Morocco will host COP 22, the world’s most important conference on the environment. In the lead up to this summit, the U.S. Embassy is looking for ideas that encourage youth to care for the environment in Morocco and we want to hear from you!
The purpose of the U.S. Embassy Open Grants Competition is to award small sums of funding for specific projects focused on galvanizing Moroccan youth to protect the environment. Successful projects will strengthen existing efforts or launch new efforts aimed at demystifying the negative impacts of climate change and give young people the tools to take a more active role in protecting and improving environmental conditions throughout Morocco.
In order for a project to be considered, the application must focus on specific pro-sustainability activities that involve Moroccan youth. Proposals must entail a clear action plan for how the project will be implemented and outline how the activities will bring about the intended results.
Activities can include workshops, trainings, sustained efforts to promote volunteerism, education campaigns, mentorship, advocacy efforts, or other activities that directly engage Moroccans age 25 years and below.
Grants will be awarded to registered non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Only registered non-governmental organizations will be eligible to receive funding.
